Ganeden Announces Research Demonstrating Immunity Benefits Of Probiotic GanedenBC30
CLEVELAND, OH (November 7, 2012) –– Ganeden, a recognized world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of probiotics, announces research demonstrating that its probiotic GanedenBC30modulates the body's immune system helping it make the appropriate immune decisions at the right time.
The study, "Probiotic metabolites from Bacillus coagulans GanedenBC30 support maturation of antigen-presenting cells in vitro," published in the peer-reviewed World Journal of Gastroenterology, suggest that GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086), a spore-forming probiotic bacterium, may provide a reduction in food allergies and associated inflammatory reactions.
This work builds on a previous study, "GanedenBC30 cell wall and metabolites: anti-inflammatory and immune modulating effects in vitro" showing that both enhancement of innate immune responses as well as anti-inflammatory effects of GanedenBC30 in vitro.
"The support of antigen-presenting cells in vitro by GanedenBC30 metabolites suggests that consumption of GanedenBC30 may lead to in vitro effects of improved decision-making in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT), translating into clinical observations of improved immunity against infections and allergies," said Sean Farmer, one of the study authors and Chief Science Office of Ganeden.
GanedenBC30 an ideal probiotic for foods and beverages that require extreme manufacturing processes (heating and cooling and/or long shelf-life).
